I remember a home FA cup game against Sheffield United of all people that was absolutely rammed out, must have been 40,000+ odd in there

I thought it was a Monday, great day, in the Northbank as a young teen jumping school also, absolute magic, I can remember a rendition of knees up mother brown being pretty manic with whole place bobbing up and down and one tilt forward and the whole crowd went…health and safety would never allow anything like it today……was at the other record crowd v Tottenham also. But this one, well pretty sure it was a time of the three day week and everyone was off – and of course it only cost a couple of bob to get in!

I was in the South Bank with my mate and his old man. I also went to the record crowd at the Spurs game but this was a far bigger crowd.
I didn't go to the Patsy Holland game Crassus but it's also on youtube

Thanks for the clip
I was struggling with this as I was a pup at a game against them in the cup when Pat Holland did a Ricky Villa to equaise at the end of the game, but was not at that one?
Just seen that we played again 73/74, lost the replay

My dad and uncle went to this, half day from work, shot back to the Boleyn, quick couple and into the ground or rather not, locked out, could not believe it

Bunked off school that day , records show that our highest home attendance was against Tottenham , but I was at both and it seemed there was 1000s more in the North Bank that Tuesday afternoon .

I'm sure this was the game when 1000s and 1000s of our fans were locked-out and weren't allowed in - including my dad - because people were bored and turned-up in massive numbers and it sold-out? He's told me about this a few times.
45k or more, even? Not enough room for the 1000s and 1000s of fans left standing outside.
